ShareLove: Persian Sugar Stick

October 22, 2012 Unknown 0 Comments

Did I tell you how I like my language exchange lesson with Ai? Not only because I can learn more about Japanese culture or the language, but also the yum yum that Ai prepared every time.
Ai said she bought these Persian sugar stick in a Persian shop and what they do is to stir this sugar stick in tea. You can leave in the cup or take it out when the cup of tea reach your sweet level. Nice!

Place2Eat: Chester Street Kitchen

This was a Sunday breakfast that I had with three beautiful ladies. This was a breakfast to farewell Mandy as a Sunday School teacher. And this was sure a wonderful place to be on a sunny Sunday.

Chester Street Kitchen just opened about a month ago. I am glad that Joanne introduced this place to us, because if she did not tell us, we will never know there is a cafe there! Hidden treasure it is!

ShareLove: Coffee Mousse

October 15, 2012 Unknown 0 Comments

I meet Ai every Monday for our language exchange. Ai is a very nice person. Every time we meet at her place, she prepares a very nice snack and a cup of tea for me.
Today, she made this very yummy coffee mousse for us. I love the way she presented her mousse in this little fancy cup. LOVE it! xx

  bon appétit  :)

Place2Eat: Wagaya

Last Christmas Eve, Jeff and I didn't have any planning for celebration. We were thinking to have steak, but it was hard to find a table when we didn't have a reservation.

Our last hope was to have Asian cuisine and tried our luck by walking in. We purposely went there earlier before the crowds coming in, so our chances to get a table was higher. Luckily, the receptionist arranged us a table but we needed to finish by 7. Well, I guess as long as we got a table, it wasn't really a big deal. Besides, we got like one and a half hour to have our meal, it didn't seem like a trouble to us.

So we started ordering... Oh, in case you don't know, this restaurant uses a new way to take order. Customers are actually taking their own order by using their touch screen menu. Then you can see what you have order and the status of the food whether they are still preparing or waiting to be served. Pretty awesome, isn't it?

Ok, here is our order (picture above from top left clockwise):
1. Shark fin and jelly fish
2. Assorted sashimi
3. Soft shell crab salad
4. Beef curry hot pot

We also ordered crab chawanmushi, scallop and garlic fried rice plus asashi draft beer and wagaya cocktail.

One good thing I must say about this restaurant is they serve their food pretty quick and that's why we could finish at 6.40. :))))
